Manufacturing contracted across major economies in the third quarter, fanning fears that the global slowdown in worsening.
The eurozone?s manufacturing sector suffered its worst performance since the second quarter of 2009 in the quarter ended September, according to Markit?s Purchasing Managers? Index, which averaged 45.1. Figures below 50 indicate contraction.
Ireland saw the most positive readings in August, while Greece brought up the rear with continued, relentless contraction.
